(Blisskasden) who made the post below has said what I have been thinking right along.There is NO WAY David could have lost the voting by 12 Million Votes. Something is wrong,possibly many automatic dialing machines

did him in.When Big Money is involved I always have by doubts.Cook who had already made a record was possibly more ready now,BUT David A is the REAL Talent,who will only get better.Now that he lost he wall have more of a chance to mature and live normally,which may have been best.

2009 David is a superstar. He won THREE awards in the music categories he was nominated in, Breakout Artist, Love Song (Crush) and Best Tour. His LIVE performance is awesome. He deserve  them. The other david didn't win any he was nominated. The show owned by Fox, mentioned David A. won one award, breakout artist, actually he won all three awards. Associated Press has all winners results. Fox is not supportive of past contestants. David A. is more popular than ever and his star keeps rising.

I have to admit I was lukewarm about Archie during the season because I was so enamoured with jason Castro (and still am) but now that he has his CD out I am an Archie fan with a capital F. He is incredible! Don't get me wrong, I thought he was a spectacular vocalist but now that he is free to do his own music-he has captured me. I play his album over and over. His star is def outshining Cook-always did!

I totally agree with everything said here, especially that David didn't NEED to win. As we have all seen, his star is shining brighter than Cook's and always will be. His acapella performances are beyond awesome. Somehow I can't imagine Cook singing Silent Night with as much heart and with such as pure, clear, magical voice as our David. DA's star is so bright it is going into orbit!

Right on,wlhardy. If this was a real singing contest, the voting would not be based on a frenzy of multiple votes by each voter. He also was not the 2nd best singer, he was the best, and by a "comfortable mile" (Simon )David got the exposure he needed on a popular TV show. He "gets" it. He wasn't lusting after a win, because he knows he has the talent needed to be successful. The public saw enough and adores him. He transcended that silly show and his participation elevated it beyond its worth

We have to remember that Idol first & foremost is a reality show pretending to be a legit singing competition. If it was really a singing contest the whole format would be a different (particularly in terms of better judges & one-on-one voting), with the contestants being treated w/dignity & respect instead of being exploited, manipulated, controlled & restricted & David got the worst of it from TPTB. He didn't NEED to win--all he needed was the exposure. The world was waiting for David A.!

David is the most talented contestant to grace the American Idol stage. He has the whole package - good looks, hot vocals and a genuinely humble personality. He mesmerizes us with his overabundance of talent at such a young age. This is why he has so many fans! I just hope he realizes what an effect he's had on us. I love the emotional connection he makes when he sings - this is what makes his performances unforgettable!
