  • wow the cranking sounds just like the one my grandpa left me. he was the original owner of it. has the 389 two barrel. now its in my possession. thanks for posting

  • Exhaust sounds great! 389 motor? Would an HEI distributor from a later model car fit in it?

  • @caleb6868 A friend owns it now. All the glass and interior is out of it. Supposedly it's being restored. We'll see.

  • hey tyler i also have a 1966 pontiac catalina and the only thing i seem i cant get right which is the timing!!! what is yours set to cuz right now mines at 30 degrees and some people say that to high!! please get back to me ASAP and one more question do the spark plugs on the distributeve cap when it starts with 1 does the #8 spark plug go on the right of the number one or the left of the number 1!!

    thanks

  • Great video. Great to see a winter cold start video.

  • im trying to finish all it has to be done with the mech then a little of interior... and finally... the most expensive... outside restoring... im having some problems with the alternator or im not sure if its that the name... (english isn't my language) maybe ill upload a short slideshow of the catalina hehe

by the way, do you know where can i find the orginal hubcaps? i've tried but no luck...

  • man... i have one pontiac catalina 1966, same as yours, but green and hehe it was stock in the grass, 3 years without starting it cause my granfather left the car on wrong hands... haha after scratching the platinum and some gas...the car start just like yours... after a minute of keeping rev. up there it was singing...

  • That old girl sound good. I thing if it was me I would rebuild the carburetor first because you all ready know that there is a problem with it. Then have a look at the points. If it has been siting for a long time the points may need to be sanded a bit.

  • It's alive....... IT'S ALIIIIIIVE... BWAHAHAHAAAAAA! Glad you didn't redline it right away when you started it. I can't stand seeing that. People fire up a motor that has been idle for a long time and start red lining the shit out of it before oil has had a chance to fully circulate. Makes me cringe... lol i think you may be right about the points! Great to see her running... bravo... pass the popcorn please!!

  • nice car, that 389 sounds sweet
