I heard the two of them opposite Bergonzi in Baltimore, 1993. She was wonderful as was Gregor. BTW< they're singing in the Great synagogue of Szeged. She really was ravishingly beautiful and she sang well too!

I love the one with Telemann's "Der Schulmeister" and Cimarosa's "Il maestro di cappella".

Thank you for reply. I just sent for two of his recordings. I was a singer myself and sang many of the same roles. I regret not having seen Gregor on the stage. Yes, he certainly was world class. Do you have favorite recordings of his?

He truly was one of the best! Not only among Hungarian singers, he was the world class no. 1! I love him very much and listen to his recordings often, and I'm not Hungarian!

No, your redundant post is what provoked my my post. And you still aren't making any sense

are you trying to pick a fight? I have no problem with it but please note that it's you who is asking for it...
Gregor was a Bass-baritone, however the role he is portraying here (Dulcamara) is listed as a bass, a comic bass if you want to get technical. Most often buffos are just listed as a bass in the program or the score and Gregor made his living as one of Europe's best.
Not sure why you felt the need to post a comment only to say "this guy is not a bass..." I can't find anywhere on here that marks this or him as a bass.
Care to elaborate?
