There is a simpler flinger consisting of a twisted rubber band and a small wire, but I forgot the configuration, I am currently trying to figure out how that worked and looking it up online, but I can't find anything. I learned of their existence as it was popular among kids to hand make that type of card for their friends and love interests in Mexico.

@JJtoob I've seen some kind of flnger made with a bent paper clip, but I couldn't duplicate it in a card. I'd love to know how if you ever find the instructions!

You can - bigger flinger means more confetti! It's not necessary though because the one size flinger flings quite a bit!
