You painted a picture of American Proto-punk simply being adopted by England. The UK had a proto-punk scene of it's own of mods, skinheads, ska, and pub rock.

Great presentation though. I'd like to see this in a graphical format with diagrams, timelines, and pictures of bands and album art.

it was adopted by england. i mean the who and the yardbirds maybe shouldn't have been overlooked, but bands like Crass and shit like that were more influenced by the fugs than anybody.. EVERYBODY WAS INFLUENCED BY THE FUGS AND THE VELVETS. Bowie is the real reason for any punk scene there and he got all his chops from Lou Reed.
