Nearly one million subscribers use it just in North America, so it is delivering for many people. However, current technology limits the user experience. That's why we're at work on the next generation satellite system. When it's ready for market, we hope you'll take another look.

Yes!!!!!! When is it coming out? 2010? I can't wait! Also, will you still limit how much we can upload and download? And is there still going to be a lot of ping? I can't play Xbox LIVE with all the ping we have now.

ViaSat-1 scheduled to launch in first quarter of 2011. All sats take a few months before entering service, so probably live 2nd half of 2011.
ViaSat-1 level of service, with our acceleration and optimization, is expected to be excellent for virtually all applications, except gaming. The physics of satellite always include delay, but new tech is always around the corner, so you never know. As for bandwidth limits, the entire system is designed to overcome the low FAP policies you have today.

Well, if ViaSat-1 was launching in LEO instead of the current, it may help with gaming, since the round trip wouldn't be 'as far'.

I'm so excited about higher FAP and higher speeds. I've heard the prices would not increase like HughesNet. I hope that will be true. 2011 seems like a long time though. lol
