Bus priority in UK is full of examples of simple and cost-effective measures. This video looks at bus priority measures used at Hammersmith Bridge in London where automatic bus gates are used for added safety. The buses are given priority at the bottle neck when approaching the single lane entry to the bridge very effectively. This film has been compiled with the hope that many Indian cities duplicate these easy methods rather than just focusing on Bogota style BRT which is limited to widest of roads (and there are very few of these in Indian cities).
very smart, good planning, you dont see much of it

This is example.
New York City has started BRT and still motorist and taxis doesn't care for buses.

thanks. that makes a refreshing change to have appreciation from people, than the usual verbal or physical abuse bus drivers normally get from members of the public.

i know the highway code states to give way to buses, especiallly those pulling away from bus stops, but it isn't actually on the statute books as law, plus everybody knows that car drivers never, or very rarely give way to buses. i should know, i'm a bus driver

just like to point out, that at the end of the bus lane, there is a give way marking for the bus to give way, NOT the other way round, so if the van had hit the bus, the bus driver would have been at fault for not giving way. (unless some idiot council worker painted the markings on the wrong side
