This is a raw video with original sound of my two friends JRMTheory and Zetsubou Sensei lifting the ceremonial shrine in a traditional "danjiri matsuri" or shrine-pulling festival held in Miki city in the Hyogo prefecture of Japan in October, 2008. The locals are chanting "ayoi yasa" which is a ceremonial chant to welcome back the gods to live in the shrines after a month of absence. The special coats everyone is wearing are called "hapi" and have different emblems on the back depending on the town neighborhood the person is representing.
