THIS Track from the album "THUMP & TWANG", is NOW available now at -
http://www.pacemaker.cd/
This tune was supposed to follow "Epilogue" the follow-up single to "Gaslight". It was written during the Parlimentary Debate to end capital punishment in Canada. If we had ever gotten into the studio with it, it could have been one of the first Canadian Heavy metal records! (With a little psychedelia thrown in). This version is included on the "THUMP & TWANG" CD.

  • I love this song! A creepy subject---just in time for Halloween! What CD could I find it on, and is this version available? I only heard of the Ugly Ducklings from listening to WDET 101.9 (a public radio college station here in Detroit) late Friday nights on the Wily Wilson show--the only other song I'm familiar with by the band is "Nothin". Love that creepy forbidden twangy guitar intro, and the lead singer is tearing that song up!

  • Hey, Statelybird, Every now & then I put the "DUCKS" CD, "THUMP & TWANG" up

on eBay! My eBay "handle" is "Nothin66".

It's actually an extended version, from the video! Search eBay for "The Ugy Ducklings" & sooner or later it'll be there!

  • @Nothin66

Thank you! First time I ever had a reply from a member of an old-school band on YouTube! Did you or someone in the band write this song, and was it ever released in any shape or form before now?

  • It was never released in any form. Good chance it'll be released in 2010. I'll make a note of the release date in the YouTube description box. Watch for it.

  • Spot-on about this being the first Canadian heavy metal song. This sounds like something Pentagram would've done in the early 70's - Maybe it's Dave and Bobby Liebling's similar mustaches! I've always loved the Ducklings for being ages ahead of their time. Awesome song!

  • Great

  • If you were lip-synching to this track, then it means that this track must exist somewhere, correct?

  • Wow this is actually very good. Surpised I never heard of this group. They do that syc type guitar that you never eally hear outside some strange movies. The subject matter may have not helped however for the happy love 60 s
