I must have heard this on Radio Luxembourg. I had to order it from a local record shop, in Staple Hill, Bristol. It took months to arrive. A schoolfriend took a fancy to it and wanted to buy it. Finally he offered the full purchase price of 6/8d. I parted with it but instantly regretted it. I had forgotten the name of the group and have searched for it as being by P F Sloan. When I tried again today and saw Ivans Meads, I instantly recognised the name. I'm delighted to hear it after 46 years.

This was played a lot at the Gondola Club in Hull in the mid 60s. I thought it was a great track. It was mostly a soul place then though. We used to go to Machester and Blackpool. Best act I saw at the ' Wheel was the Ferris Wheel soul band. Such great memories.
Just looking at the group now makes me feel happy. I loved it when boys looked like this; they had nice hair and great clothes, which is what teenaged girls always noticed. Unlike today, when boys LOOK UGLY WITH THEIR SHAVED HEADS and scruffy clothes. I love men to look smart and fashionable and with great hair. I am 60 now, but loved my teenage years of the Sixties when everything seemed carefree and perfect and great music, great clubs like The Twisted Wheel, Top of the Town, Manchester...
Oh wow, this takes me back to late 1965 and being in my fourth year at school and wanting so badly to be a mod! This song always seemed to have some shame attached to it which made it even more attractive. Also, the group's name seemed SO COOL at the time. My friend, Angela Bennett at St Columba's, seemed to be the only other person I knew who got it. I can see the dance we used to do to this record. Oh it has taken me back, so glad Iogged in!
On first listen, I can see why you were taken by it Stephen/Fray. It`s a good track.
