ABC Foreign Correspondent’s Eric Campbell survey’s the Venezuela of Hugo Chavez, post-Bush and with the rivers of export oil revenue slowing significantly. He’s ploughed billions into his revolution building health clinics, schools, subsidised food markets and universities for the poor. He’s also used his oil money to export his 21st century socialism model to a swathe of other Latin American countries - out spending the US by five to one. But can all of this be sustained.
@neolestat13 Is America the only country that offers its citizens the opportunity to progress socially? Anyone here can own a property, have a car, and travel. Have we been able to develop "good capitalism?"

the point is that, this is not socialism, this government is not working in order to develop the country, work together, or giving to poor people the way to increase the quality of live. It is just focused on the international popularity and make the world think that a change is possible with this fake socialism the corruption and bureaucracy are killing and making this country more poor.

The problem is overpopulation. In a capitalist world the majority are exploited and live miserable lives with very little oportunities. Socialism is just a social ideology to work together instead of an ideology that only lets very few poeple enjoy overindulgent freedom. In Venezuela the lower class is the great majority. It would be nice if everyone could own property, have a car, travel but sometimes you do what you can in order to lift some weight off of the poor. Don't blame socialism.
