Elf Island (www.ElfIsland.com), a 15-person entreprenuerial start-up based in Atlanta, recently launched a virtual online world for kids. The site allows kids to play online "GoodQuest" games that mirror partnerships with real-world non-profit ventures.
It's tough to think about helping others in these economic times -- as many people are just trying to survive -- but Elf Island lets you do just that, with a unique online world that lets kids play games and do good at the same time. For example, this month kids are saving virtual sharks online while at the same time protecting real sharks from poachers in the Galapagos Islands.
