It's the energy from fallen creatures called Animus. You can suck the energy up and heal yourself or release it as a blast to hit those mythical creatures.

I finished this game and seriously it looked awesome and all...... I'm not saying that the controls are bad however the controls coulda been made much better.

What is the magic thingie you keep absorbing from mobs? :) Are you able to use special abilities with that or...? Btw, really great video I'm getting this game tomorrow for the pc! Can't wait hehe.
