Dragon Age: Redemption - Nyree (Episode 4) ft. Felicia Day!

Dragon Age: Redemption is a six-part web series set in the world of the EA/Bioware RPG Dragon Age. The series tells the story of Tallis, an Elvish assassin, who gets a last chance at redemption when she's sent to capture a rogue Qunari mage intent on wreaking havoc in the world.

Was Day talking about the video game mission when she reference Orlay or was that something else? Because I don't remember the slave girls.

I did like the way that they shaped the scenes of Blood Magic's usage. Merril was one of the most interesting ones because, with her, it was so natural that she hardly knew that she was doing anything odd. Only 2 scenes bothered me, the first of which was in the brothel; Hawke seemed so disgusted by the usage of blood magic, despite me romancing Merril & being a comfortable bloodmage myself. The second was watching the enchanter, whom I sided with; yet you're right, then, he was weak willed.

My point exactly, the game shows us over and over that blood mages can lose control but all the while each one of them were previously shown to be weak willed fools who turned to blood magic out of anger or fear. The few blood mages we meet that had an objective reason to use it seem to have no problem telling the demons to take a long walk off a short cliff. And then there's Reavers to consider.

I was a blood mage in DA2, and it did feel awkward condemning and being condemned by everyone in the game. Briefly working with Meredith nearly gave me a heart attack lol.

I agree; blood magic is dangerous, but depends on its usage. Is burning someone to death really much worst than clotting them to death? ... ...
