At the foot of the mysterious Moon Mountain lives a white lion named Leo, ruler of the jungle. He and his family live peacefully among the other animals in a lush habitat with which they have been blessed.
Humans have entered Leo's domain, shattering the peace in their relentless search for Moonlight stones, a source of exquisite wealth. Overwhelmed by greed, they have little regard for the living creatures of the jungle. The animals, disturbed by the occupation of their rightful home, must resist the intruders.

For some people that are like " OMG GUYS THIS WAS MADE IN 1997, BEFORE LION KING SO STFU," I'm going to point out that Kimba the White Lion was made long before this movie. In 1965. There's a whole manga and TV series of Kimba that came waaaay before 1994.

Both the movies are good, but this movie has its storytelling problems since we don't understand the context of Leo's life without the full series being dubbed in English but Simba's whole story is told in TLK. Secondly, this movie came out 2 years after TLK in Japan and was not dubbed in English until 2002. You need to do your homework before you cry plagiarism and watch your opinions unless you can back them up. Good day.

As hawaiianpony pointed out, this movie was released in 1997 while The Lion King was released in 1994, therefore this movie did not inspire The Lion King. Rather, the similarities are taken from the original series of the 1960s known as Kimba the White Lion in the U.S. And whether Disney "copied" something or not, they are both great stories and movies(/series) that deserve respect.

I don't understand how you people refer this movie to the lion king, in a movie one of the most important elements is the story and emotions of the characters, the story is way different than that of kimba/leo. Others say it's a copy of Hamlet, but after reading Hamlet I saw that the best parts of TLK wasn't in there. TLK is as similar to kimba as kimba is to bambi.
