Dr. Jeffrey Cornelius-White, Missouri State University associate professor of counseling leadership and special education, recently received special recognition from the American Psychological Association.
Dr. Cornelius-White was presented the 2010 Division 32 Humanistic Psychology Carmi Harari Award. The award is given to psychologists within 15 years after receiving their Ph.D. for contributions in the areas of inquiry, application and social action.
Recipients of the award have provided outstanding services to communities or clients from various groups. These might include urban inner cities, rural, refugees, minority populations or people affected by war, violence or social inequities. By receiving the award Dr. Cornelius-White has been recognized for advancing the publics recognition of psychology as a profession, as well as his own accomplishments as a practitioner.
And on the court to congratulate him is Missouri State associate provost for undergraduate education Dr. John Catau. Ladies and gentlemen please acknowledge the professional achievement of Dr. Cornelius-White. He is in the Bancorp South Academic Spotlight.
