  • During winter I am trying not to drive my mercs, too much salt on the roads.

In Sweden You dont have salt on the road isnt???

  • @kuras123e yes here in southern sweden we do have salt, but its much more south of where i live, but up north where the roads are topped with tons of snow rather than ice just grit will do, so northern driven mercs are most often rust free even after traveled over 500 000kms! ;) (old taxis still used)

  • underbar bil :D många tummen upp !

  • @TheBillabong1111 absolut, :) titta gärna på videon när jag renoverar den också! :) hade gött

  • lovely old bus, i must get a w123 one day...

  • @kimosaaaabe be sure that you do! it will serve you well if you take care of it! i wouldnt hecitate to drive it down to Africa and back.. i will probably do a Euro-tour after i finish "gymnsiet" (high school) with it. :) unlike any other car which you wonder if it will make it into town.. mine does 7-8L / 100km + in 2 years its taxes free! :)

  • @EssexBoy696969 no i dont use chains, plus the tires are 4 year old all-year-round tires plus in this clip the brakes were on pretty hard! :) yeah it did good! our two last winters have been down to -30*c! but it fired up pretty good even though the battery was really bad and i had no glowplug light in the ignition to look at..

haha yeah new 4x4 are just getting worse and are made to look good and as "cityjeeps". my dad has a 06 Subaru Forrester and it i may say grips really good on ice!

  • CK - were you on snow chains only I couldn't see them in this clip?

If not, then the car handled well (would we expect anything but from a W123?) and you drove it pretty damn good!

The last two horrendous winters in the South of England have left people petrified - many have stayed at home and the Country before Christmas ground to a standstill. :-)

My neighbour ( a builder) did have trouble getting his 4x4 off his drive and actually laughed when my W123 just gently drove away from mine.
