@trueChristianwalk The American government was originally intended to be secular. The founding fathers stated that over and over again. Just because there's a Christian majority does NOT mean this is a Christian country. YOU stand for Jesus Christ, and that's great, but the American government doesn't stand for Jesus or any other god, goddess, or prophet. At least it shouldn't.

There's some real stupid in the comment section, too.
The UK and Russia are not ash piles, nor is the US a Christian country. It is a country with a Christian majority and a political system way too wedded to the Christian Right.
However, the US Constitution is based on Enlightenment principles, including freedom, with the most relevant one being freedom of (and by extension from) religion.
