The holographic principle is a physical property of quantum gravity theories, proposed by Gerard 't Hooft and Leonard Susskind, which resolves the black hole information paradox. It has been given a precise mathematical formulation within string theory, largely as a result of Susskind's work.

The principle states that the description of a volume of space should be thought of as encoded on a boundary to the region, preferably a light-like boundary like a gravitational horizon. For a black hole, the principle states that the description of all the objects which will ever fall in is entirely contained in surface fluctuations of the event horizon.

In a larger and more speculative sense, the theory suggests that the entire universe can be seen as a two-dimensional information structure "painted" on the cosmological horizon, so that the three dimensions we observe are only an effective description at low energies. Cosmological holography has not yet been made mathematically precise, partly because the cosmological horizon has a finite area and grows with time.

Solipsism simply says that reality comes from the same place dreams do.

If you think reality came from God or a pea sized piece of matter, then that is a matter of faith. Faith (noun): 'belief that is not based on proof' . Prove where the Universe "is" and I'll accept that you know where your body "is". You have nothing more than a fairy tale someone else told you. What's worse is that quantum mechanics makes reality look like a 'matter' of 'thought'. (Search for 'faster than light')

  • @JEL625 Where is your body? Where is your earth? Where is your galaxy? Where is your universe? Where is your "proof" that 2 human bodies exist apart from each other? How do you 'prove' that you were alive yesterday (and not simply born in this moment with memories of the past)? At least be honest. You have no proof. You just have "faith" that the universe is "floating someWHERE" other than your THOUGHT. Don't worry. Your "faith" is "thought" too! :)
  • @caLLLendar Sorry but no, I have no faith. I have an evidence based world. I am also monist. Having a body? A body is all we are and this video is actually a testament to that, so long as you remove the solipsism. We know how the brain works, how we see, hear, and all the other senses. We know how to trick them and manipulate them. There much we know and there is still far more to discover.

I reject solipsism because all other information points elsewhere. It is not hope or faith.

  • can you explain dinosaurs for me then?

  • @JEL625 Yes. I agree with you, but I don't look at solipsism negatively like you do. You have more "faith" and "hope" than I do. Do you have faith that you have a "body"? . . . . . If so, you have faith in . . . . . . . . . . .distance . . . . . . . . linear time The only thing you can prove is that you have "thoughts." You are hoping there is more to reality than thought. Thought isn't enough for you. Why? A: Solipsism is "lonely". I have no faith or need to prove there is anything more.
  • @caLLLendar impulses of what? in solipsism there is no material world you can measure in any manner as it is all a product of a said mind. Thus no evidence one can acquire to prove any of these premises as it call all be a hallucination. It is a philosophical dead end, psychological horse shit, biological rejection, and a rejection of all empirical data. To be a solipsist you must be the only solipsist as everyone is is a product of your mind and cannot be proven otherwise.

  • @MrSumbody69 i agree with you though all of existence is thought, time is not linear but a creation of self awareness.

  • @caLLLendar actually for alot of people its hard to wrap their minds around this concept. 99% of people only believe what they can see. That is one of the hardest things to understand for most people, i have had to rethink everything i understand because of this. And i am theorizing my own ideas now because of it.

  • @MrSumbody69 There is no "evolution". "Evolution" implies linear time. The past and future are illusions. All that exists is in the present moment. There is only one "law" to really understand: "All of existence is thought." Surely, you can 'wrap your mind around' thought. :)

  • @psynapsurfa You mind is "nowhere". Using the word "where" assumes a 'place' and that means that there is 'distance'. There is no 'distance'. All you perceive is thought and thought is all of existence. Ask yourself, "What is the distance from one side of a thought to the other?"
