very nice lawnmower for free

yup, i still use it to mow the lawn, only thing wrong with it is a bad OHV seal, so when it sits for a few days its smokey for the first 30 seconds or so when you start it, other than that i'm really happy with it, especially for a freebie

The Varidrive is great. Simple, single speed rear and a manual variable double pulley. Just remember, NEVER install generic belts on a Varidrive. Always use the MTD original belts. Generic belts are not quite the right size and will cause all kinds of annoying problems.
