Bulk Flow Analyst™ DEM Analysis of Sticky Particles

This analysis was performed using Bulk Flow Analyst™ from Overland Conveyor Company.

Particles that are covered with (but not submerged within) a fluid form a bond the strength of which is dependent upon the surface tension of the fluid. Additionally, if smaller grains exist among the larger particles, the smaller particles and the fluid may form something like a paste, increasing the strength of the bond.

It was shown that the design of the chute was inadequate for the given flow rate and material properties.
