An Uncle Dave classic played in open D.I have been listening to hillbilly and blues records for almost forty years and try my best to play a song as I hear it in my head and to sing it in my most natural voice and not the typical growling which sounds to me like a new generation of "Darkie" dialect.

  • Superb old-time, pre-Bluegrass style, so very true to the Uncle Dave style. Thanks for sharing. It's inspiring.

  • Hi, Thanks for the compliment! I know a bunch more songs like this and hope some day I'll have the time to post them, right now I'm working at building five banjos. RB

  • Good job Mr. Brown! Can you do "Sail Away, Ladies" or "Old Plank Road"?

  • Jim, Thank you for the nice comment! Yes I play both of those songs and intend to record more banjo selections as soon as I get the chance. RB
