After every major utility outage in Chicago, a company called U.S. Energy Savings sends squads of young kids door to door, possibly hoping to catch homeowners and business owners at a vulnerable time.

For strangers who just show up at one's door without an appointment, they're just a little too eager to look at residents' utility bills, and that's not info I share with just anyone.

Have any of you have any dealings with these people, and if so, have you seen the enormous savings they claim consumers will enjoy?

  • and by the way....con ed REAAALLY cares for you. they sit up trying to make u pay less. yeah. -_-.

where the FUCK are you from, Civvy? you from iraq? did a bomb blow your brains out?....

put a sign on your door saying you're the one who posted this stupid video..and im sure the agents wont bother u..trust me. or maybe they'll kill you. What do you do for a living, by the way, that allows you to make over a G a week? just wondering.

  • It's official; U.S. Energy Savings is a scam. I'm hope you made your money before Illinois' Attorney General got ahold of them (they're now called Just Energy) Read all about it in the annotations. Next agent that comes to my door gets the Clint Eastwood "Gran Torino" greeting;-)

  • I had been working an outdoor car show about two days before I shot this;-)

  • If you're not comfortable with giving them your bill, then don't give them your bill, it's as simple as that. :) At the end of the 5 years your price goes back up to the market rate (what your neighbor's pay). So for these 5 years, you won't have to worry about having your gas rates increase.

  • I'll keep on Peoples' Gas budget plan, thanks. Works just fine. And if a copy of my gas bill isn't necessary for US Energy to get me all these wonderful savings, why do US Energy reps always demand to see it? Their reps need to dial it back just a notch; they might get more customers.

  • im gonna look like u in 30 years haha

  • Yes, but will you be as healthy? That's the trick;-)

  • Just another so called opportunity, that will drain you and

stress you with long hours and with little outcome.

  • I am a former employee that would like to speak out about this company. I was not a contractor I was an employee working inside their offices. I worked for JE Texas and you wouldnt believe the bullshit that was pressured into my everyday life. If anyone would like to contact me for an interview please do so. I am not speaking out against them as in defamation but as a warning

  • @TheCorrectInfo You both have questionable marketing tactics!

  • just energy giant scam

  • I originally did sign up with them, but it just took a quick call to my energy company to switch back after seeing that the BBB gave them an "F"

  • @Avaldemon...interesting, so on avg how much do people spend over a 5 year period to their local utility? tens? hundreds?

  • @artistmac....lmao. Sir no offense but your a complete target for ANY sales person. So your saying all a scamer has to do is call you up, set up an appointment, and then you'll happily show them your bill?? well then you might as well have said that to the kids knocking on your door. Matter of fact for now on post ur number w/ a schedule of your available times outside your door & an agent will definitely contact you.

  • @cbdub01....u sound stupid as all hell. "People they prey on are low income", so ur implying that everyone who has a low income is an idiot. WHICH IS VERY INSULTING. You need do think before you type. I have (unlike you) researched their client base and they have CORPORATIONS who spend on avg $6 million a year on electricity alone, so what exactly is your ignorant ass talking about??

  • Ok, Let me help you understand. When you sign a 5 year agreement w/ Just Energy you agree to have them SUPPLY electricity and/or gas to you THROUGH your local utility, which would be Con Edison or National Grid for a term of 5 years. Once That agreement (contract) ends you will no longer be supplied by just energy you will automatically (unless you re new your contract) go back to having your electricity and/or gas supplied by your local utility. Get it??
