This is the first ride after spending about 2 years on this project. As you can see, I struggled with the suicide clutch a little but got moving. The video is a little long but it makes me happy.

  • @TheJunior424 This was the first time riding the first bike I ever built and the first time I ever even attempted using a foot clutch, hand shift. I would have wore more protection if I would have had it. :-)

  • @jasongrim The front end sucked anyway (no bushings or anything on pivot points) so I had to take it off, sell it at a big loss. I ended up with a front end from Redneck Engineering which worked great. There were many other issues that had to be reworked on the frame as well. Do not shop at Thompson Choppers. Check out the Better Business Bureau on them as well. Not good.

  • where did you get the frame? was it a roller?

  • @jasongrim I got the frame from Thompson Choppers. Do NOT buy a frame from them. I had to get local police involved just to get them to send it to me after I pad (months and months late). I bought the frame, front end, and wheels from them and when I had the bike finished, the bike was too low to the ground to even pass a safety (I couldn't turn without dragging the frame).

  • is a suicide clutch like a automatic?

  • @jm300ful No - not automatic. In reality mine really isn't a proper "suicide" clutch. It is a foot clutch and a hand shift.

  • Awesome man!! I've been riding with suicide clutch for almost a year now, and i\I never want to shift any other way!

    Enjoy the ride!

  • Although I have been riding my same suicide clutch jockey shift chopper since 1974, your video took me back to the first time I tried to ride mine, hahaha. Sorry ya ran into a crappy shop to do business with, I feel your pain. Same thing here, except my bad place was Northwest Custom in Washington.

  • @BoomTapSafety thats a jocky shift then

  • lots of leather for a trip around the block!
