IKE&TINA - PART 2

Part 2 of the Australian GTK show from the Ika & Tina Turner Revue at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney 1975. The sound is live and it was shot with four or five 16mm cameras and edited on an 8-plate Seenbeck (I know because I was at the shoot - high up in the lighting gantry, and also i was the Editor who cut it). I had to work overnights because the Steenbeck was used for Drama shows during the day. The female interviewer is "Violet Hamilton" and I'm certain that is not her real name. This copy is from the original workprint (complete with chinagraph marks) and was "preserved" on a U-matic tape for many years.

I was involved in a very brief conversation between Tina Turner and three people in Toronto in the 1980s. I didn't speak, I was just there with the other people that she spoke to. She was happy, very friendly and open. Really nice person. Totally at ease. No attitude. No BS. Just a very nice person to be around. Whatever she's got, they should bottle it and give some to everybody. The world would be a beautiful place.

Before the movie about her life came out, and you look at this interview. Tina has a very calm demeanor, so you would've never guessed that she was absued by Ike in any way but it also show she is very passionate about what she does and how professional she is about her singing career despite Ike.
