Author and Northeastern Professor Alan Jay Zaremba discusses his book "The Madness of March: Bonding and Betting with the Boys in Las Vegas," on March 10, 2009 as part of Northeastern University Libraries' Meet the Author Series. Zaremba explores the hair-raising excitement that permeates the crowds of bettors in the first four days of the NCAA mens basketball tournament. Gamblers flock to Las Vegas to create a culture that is both obsessive and transient. Zaremba offers tournament history and a first-hand account of encounters with these striking characters and their stories, as well as insight into the cultural theory of this distinctive and frenetic American subculture. Find his book in the Library's catalog, NUCAT at GV887.7 .Z37 2009.
