  • Nice attitude! Public relations is not a strong point?

In fact they reserve the right to void the service contract on any machice they feel is harmed by another product. So if the printhead is clogged by ink not designed to be used specifically for that machine. So in a sense I misspoke. It doesn't void the machine or its parts, it voids the service contract and the customer would have to pay to have the machine serviced for the sake of substandard ink put through the printhead.

  • We do not sell substandard ink. If you feel you have had a problem with one of our cartridges, bring in your cartridge and we will refund or replace it. Or you are welcome to bring in your machine so that we can try and determine what the problem is. Any printer with a printhead built in is subject to the printhead needing to be replaced at some point. It is generally not a cartridge issue.

  • Of course they do not tell you that using their ink voids the printhead warranty for Pitney Bowes mailing machines.

  • Get your facts straight- Your postage meter warranty is protected under the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act of 1975. This act prohibits manufacturers from

voiding a product warranty due to the use of third party supplies (specifically under the tie-in sales provision of the Act) unless the Manufacturer provides supplies at NO CHARGE to the consumer.

  • @northwoods57 "The boys" at Pitney Bowes aren't trying to make it nasty for anyone. They want their machines to run trouble-free for as long as they can. Putting an ink cartridge in the machine and that cartridge clogging or otherwise damaging the printhead costs Pitney Bowes money. If the customer does this willfully, they SHOULD be charged for the service call.

BTW, the USPS requires the ink to have a flourescent in the ink.

  • @JackNimble61 pitney bowes mailing machines, have a flourescent ink!

the USA has the MM warranty as stated below. But the boys from Pitney bowes can make it nasty for you! law or no law
