Beyond that, it is based off of a book series by the same title. If you've ever explored NYC, the Upper East Side is where the very, very rich live and play. The series takes a look at high school aged kids in the UES and the stuff that they have to deal with like distracted parents,social pressure, insecurity,etc and all of the scandal that goes with it. It's narrated by "Gossip Girl" who is an annonymous blogger who shares everything that happens to the characters.
