  • simple but expensive. few hundred dollars for hammer drill, 20-30$s for drill bit.

  • @passavator1 Or you could rent one for a day.

  • While I think this is a secure way of attaching a piece of wood to concrete, I have concerns about the long term durability of this method. New pressure treated lumber eats up common steel nails, and concrete will wick moisture from the ground unless it is isolated by plastic.

  • @jebe342 You didn't think about concrete that has a vapor barrier under it. No moisture is in that concrete. Or poured foundations that have been waterproofed or damproofed. If you do have water issues, then just substituted galvanized nails.

  • Wow.... That's pretty rough. Why not just use plastic anchors and screws??? And why would you drill through wood with a masonry bit?? Did you leave the drill on hammer action to do that??? And if you are after something that will not come out (not even with a crowbar) use chemsets or dynabolts.... I guess this is a good tip if you want to do a rough and dodgey job, but I find doing things right works best!

  • @MalliganTheUFO Great questions. The method works. So I'll challenge you. If you feel you have a better way, how come I can't find a video(s) about it on your channel? Show us he non-dodgey way.

  • @firedude102 And your reasoning is? I went to your channel and there are no Ramset videos showing why they are better. Be sure to show video footage of when the nail fails to go in all the way. Be sure to cover the cost of the tool in your analysis. A hammer drill can be used for many purposes. A Ramset gun can only be used for one thing.

  • Great idea, sir! I'll keep this in mind! =D

  • @AsktheBuilder

I would say ramset gun goes a lot faster, Maybe if you only have one small piece to attach to concrete that's ok because you don't want to waste money on a ramset gun only for a small job.

  • great tip thanks.

  • Thats very smart sir! I will try that on my project!
