We had only 1 inch of snow when we started so we chose to NOT run chains, big mistake!! Later in the day we stopped on about a 15 degree uphill to wait for the vehicle in front os uf who was having a hell of a time. After 5 or 6 tried they cleared the obstacle of rock steps at the top of the run. We stopped about 50 yards below to give them a wide berth should they slid down the road towards us. Once they cleared the obstacle I let the clutch up and we instantly slid sideways about 1/2 off the road. Apparently the place I stopped had about a 5 degree side tilt to it as well as the 15 degree up tilt. With no chains on the tires and about 5" of snow on the ground those 49" IROKs turned into surf boards. We missed the trees!! We slid neatly in between one in front and one in back by about 10 feet on either end. I think if we had never stopped we would have been OK but stopping on the upgrade was a mistake. Better yet, RUN YOUR CHAINS ON ALL 4 TIRES IN SNOW. Safe wheeling to all.

  • this music is cheezier than chucky cheeseys cheese special mega cheese meal

  • @TheBigrodger I can't argue with that. However, for old guys like me, it is Jeff Beck so it ain't too bad!! LOL

  • Nice video!! but, what would you do without the rear winch?? lol

  • @PirateJeep It took me 20 years of serious wheeling before I finally built something with a winch front and rear. I am a slow learner, LOL! To paraphrase an old idiom "discretion is the better part of Valor" or in wheeler slang " sometimes its better to pull back than pull forward".

  • what is that awesome looking machine

  • @randomb0b123 Thanks a bunch. Check out the build up videos on my channel to see the entire process. If you have any questions feel free to ask. If you or any of your friends are looking for heavy duty off road tire chains let me know. Happy wheeling this upcoming winter!
