I don't have anything against vegans in general. I have a strong dislike for people who take on a specific lifestyle and act like it makes them better than everyone else and then use it to promote lies, bigotry and segragation along with being hypocritical on the stupidest of levels.
PETA, however, should never be placed in the same category as the terms "pro-animal rights" and "pro-animal welfare", because PETA is poison to the movement. If you bring PETA up as a source for why people should care about animals, your not going to get very far.
"You can be a vegan and still give your pet meat because they would be the one consuming it, not you."
A lot of vegans don't see it that way. They claim that cats and dogs are the same as humans and can "survive", a word they often confuse with "thrive", on a vegan diet when that's not the complete case.
@Bluebelle9289 They have done good things like stop many companies from animal testing and they exposed the horrors of many factory farms, fur farms, and circuses. I don't support PETA , they are just an example. There are many other people and organizations who have witnessed this same cruelty. This isn't just about them.
@Bluebelle9289 You can be a vegan and still give your pet meat because they would be the one consuming it, not you. They need it to survive, so they have to have it, but there is no reason why a human has to have meat if they can eat other foods.
If you're vegan then you can't have a cat, although you probably shouldn't have a dog either. It's not fair to take advantage of your animal's lack of ability to verbally consent to following your vegan diet, and aside from that, cats need meat. If you don't give cats meat they'll get sick and die.

"they have done many good things"
Like murdering over 95% of the animals they're supposed to be rescuing?
