Milk trucks collect milk from Canadian dairy farms and deliver it to processing plants everyday.

Transcript:

Wilfrid- Canadian milk is considered to be among the highest quality in the world. All raw milk is tested before it enters the food chain. Every second day the milk truck comes on this farm, and on other farms in this area to collect our milk. The milk trucker first grades the milk, takes the milk temperature and reads the chart and enters the amount on the folder. He also samples the milk into a vial which is sent away for testing. The barcode on the milk vial contains information that will link that milk back to our farm so that if there is any problem associated with either the tank load of milk or the sample of milk it can be traced back to the farm it came from. He enters the information onto his computer, then he proceeds to hook up the hose to the milk tank. He turns on the milk pump and empties the tank. When the tank is emptied he hooks the hoses back up to the tank and turns on the automatic washer, which cleans the tank ready to be filled with the next milk. From the farm the milk goes to the processing plant which is government licensed and inspected. The milk is tested before it is unloaded, the milk is then pasteurized, packaged and delivered to local grocery stores.
