Barack Obama recently came under fire for comments about the deaths of Afghan civilians. However, Obama's critics are misguided and putting politics over what's best for our nation.

  • here's the deal. who remembers their first reaction to the twin tower's attack? Didn't you want to go and attack those who attacked us? Yes, the whole nation stood up and said "yes" when Bush asked if we wanted to go to war. he told us it would be long and hard, and we said "yes" Now we act like we never wanted those who attacked us to die. For shame!

  • half the soldiers are democrats? are you kidding me? seriously, you must be joking, right? Yes, there's a few but they are not the typical hippie tree hugging leftist type, they are more the moderate type. I don't know a single Marine that would vote for Obama or Hillary. However, I would take Obama over her, she is the biggest liar and hypocrite in the party. She voted for the war along with the majority of them, then changed her tune when it became politically dangerous for her.

  • @usmcdevildog83 I just finished serving 6 years in the military, and I TEND to vote democrat... So does my father who retired as an E8 and my stepdad who's a colonel... and about half of the guys who I knew when I served. Calling all of us tree huggers is like calling all republicans warhawking racists -- just lazy. If you think that nobody's allowed to disagree with you about this country, then you're shitting on your vow of defending the constitution.

  • @rreed87139

President Obama got the job done in Afghanistan by taking care of Osama Bin Laden without the need to strafe Afghan villages like President Bush did.

  • If you only knew how many bad guys (terrorist) we did NOT strike because of a possible "civilian" casualty. If you had only seen how the enemy did not care who was in the sight of an IED (road side bomb). That includes the enemy pulling the trigger even with a little Iraqi girl in the path. You would not be using a couple of human errors to justify what Obama characterized a Standard Operating Procedures of the U. S. military.

    Shame on you.

  • Tuesday, November 10, 2009 Email to a Friend ShareThisAdvertisementThe Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 30% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -10 (see trends).

Seems your boy is losing flavor fast. From the high 80s on election to 30% in only a year. Wow

  • Of the roughly 1,400 Afghan civilians killed so far this year, 395 have been casualties of Western air strikes.

NATO officials have directed their commanders in Afghanistan to reduce their reliance on air strikes in order to avoid killing civilians.

Obama deals with the tough reality of the situation and takes the heat. McCain puts Politics first over Reality.

  • Bush didn't ask us he sold us on iraq declared victory nearly 2000 days ago and told us to support buy going shopping...well we see where that's gotten us. It must be lonely to be one of the 25% who still approve of the Bush administration.

  • As someone who has actually served in the military as a United States Marine Im deeply disappointed in this statement that Barrack Obama stated. As troops for the U.S. our beliefs and what we stand for is what we practice constantly in Iraq and surrounding countries. Constant classes, training, and repetitive speeches instill this in our beliefs. It is extremely unfortunate that civilians have been injured, although very unlikely in the current situation in our organized position in Iraq.

  • Thanks for posting this. Again the "Right" takes what Obama

says out of context and makes it seems as though its said in a bubble. Obviously there is worldwide reaction to our bombing

in Afg.,...let's try to get right this time.

  • Except Civilians in Karachi or in villages around Afghanistan didn't bomb us.

I liked the TV series "Coach." Doesn't mean I'm Craig T. Nelson...
