5th Generation Civic Headlamp Buzzer Installation

If you own a 5th generation (1992-1995) or earlier Honda Civic, you've probably found yourself in this situation... stranded with a dead battery after leaving your headlights on.




Well, this $3.49 fix can be installed by the least mechanically inclined and will have you throwing away you jumper cables in no-time.

Materials required: 12v Piezo Buzzer ($3.49 @ Radioshack), and a Needle Nose Pliers.

I imagine newish cars wire into a neutral switch to prevent the buzzer from buzzing when the car is running AND in park. Not sure.

Long-story-short... This buzzer is meant to prevent you from leaving your lights on while your car is off. It's not meant to prevent you from leaving your door open while your lights are on.

Hmmm... I wonder if it's possible to wire the buzzer into the circuit that turns the dome-light on when the door is opened? In theory, this would turn the buzzer on only when the door is opened and the headlamps are on. The only downfall might be that the buzzer would go on even if the car is running. In other words, if you're dropping someone off with the car running, the buzzer would buzz the entire time the door is open. Annoying...

i leavee my lights on all the time on my coupe good look ima put 1 of them bitchezz onn

but when i do this exact same thing if my headlights are on and the door is closed it still buzzez... any ideas?
