SO happy to see a glamorous nurse!!! my sister is a nurse (in the US) and all her nursing friends are SO FRUMPYYY!! some people say "why wear makeup as a nurse?" why not?! :) you look beautiful

there's definitely a difference in trying to look good, clean cut and presentable and then a girl who takes her make up to the extreme.. don't get me wrong i wear make up & make myself look presentable but omg .. not that much!

who made the rule nurses should have a clean face we have come futher than FLORENCE women can work and be proud of themselves now its 2012....not 1912 and a nurse should be human i would like a nurse with some pride and dignity taking care of me she wearing make up is a sign she is happy and not depressed AS LONG AS ITS IN GOOD TASTE and I KNOW I DONT WANT A FRUMPY DEPRESSED NURSE taking care of me DEPRESSION = MISTAKES

nurses dont wear make up because they are afraid of what others will think nursing ages u fast lol. U have to live up to sooooooo many expectations a tough field not like the commercials.

how come u guis can do that?... in the states and europe,we have to wear a tight ponytail super weird almost no make up on ... Im form mexico.... =(

Because sometimes if you're a young nurse, people will not take you seriously, especially if you wear so much makeup that patients and their families think you're trying to play dress up. People's lives are in your hands when you're a nurse. It's ok to look nice, but we shouldn't let our appearance distract from the subject at hand: actually taking care of the patient. It doesn't matter if we think we're competent nurses; it matters if the patients think so.
