  • well, multitouch the word is misused alot, most people mean 'pinch-to-zoom' not multitouch...but anyway, installing dolphin browser is not a LEET HACK mommy...u need t oroot ur phone, and install the Cyanogen mod when he releases it(by tomorrow)...then you will be a LEET-HOX0R-MOMMY

  • Exactly, the Dolphin Browser is not a hack at all, nor do you need to root your phone. Its just an app, one of a few, where Pinch to Zoom works.

And I think you mean 1337, not LEET ;-) Mommy knows things!

  • No Zoom out?

  • zoom in, zoom out, it does it

  • A little heavy on the smugness there.....

but it's hard to see how they did not know of this it's not exactly new... as in, appeared today!

  • yes, sorry about that! this was right when the phone to came out and I thought it was crazy that no one was reporting it. ;-)

  • you dont need the dolphin browser anymore...google just released an update today that makes the phone run multi touch with the browser, photo gallery and google maps

  • iPhone is so weak. they put patents on anything because they are scared to death to lose the market.

  • @androidmommy Not really apparently. It is not really multi-touch but instead an algorithm that detects the radius of the point and uses the edges of that point to create 2 points. The screen does not see two separate points but simply one large one.

  • Thx, mom =)

  • @RaiNai2k7 Don`t get me wrong, the nexus is an awesome phone but the iphone has a better touchscreen and multitouch hardware/software, but some of the bugs maybe fixed in the android 2.2 release later this May. We'll see.

  • @fusion2007 oh ok... i type(?) corrected... =p

as much as i'd like to try, i can't... i don't have an iPhone (or any touch-screen phone)... i'm planning to order the nexus one, though... but, i'm a bit hesitant because of all the bugs/problems i'm hearing about... that's why i'm reading a lot of articles about it and watching a lot of youtube videos...

  • @fusion2007 if a phone can do pinch-zooming, then it means it's multi-touch capable...

dual-touch screen? if i'm not mistaken, all phones currently are only dual-touch, including iPhone...

synaptics has developed a truly multi-touch screen (capable of detecting more than two touch points) for phones... but i don't know if it is used in any of the phones today...

  • This phone doesn't have multi-touch! True. That is not Multi-touch! It's pinch to zoom. Try to download a multitouch app from the market and you'll see. Crap dualtouch screen! Shame on google! Not even near the Iphone screen.

    P.S.: I've got a Nexus One.
