Well, the block is a teksid block, I can get one for $80. The heads are B port DOHCs, I can get those for $50 a piece. You're right, it is a 4.6. It's pretty much the same block and head combo of a 96-99 cobra or a 1st gen Lincoln MKVIII. It's pretty beastly.

JZ engines are strong, they sound good, they look intimidating, etc. I personally believe that they are the highest potential JDM engine, and Ford is the USDM equivalent... but direct comparison between the two is kind of one sided, no?

Source for what? Mihovitz engine combo? It's always been an aluminum dohc 4.6 motor. Originally using 4.6 heads. Recent years he has gone to using the 5.4 heads. It's still using a stock crank only 282ci and that comes from just honing and boring the cylinders out when he builds the motor. That's every article I've ever read and interviews with mihovitz himself.

Supra motors have gone deep into the 6's on the factory block. Let's see you get educated perhaps. And the car is a 4.6 dohc aluminum block with worked gt500 heads and twin 80mm turbos.
