僕が通っていた教習所の教習車がこの5代目ギャランでした。他の­教習所は当時­のGX80系トヨタクレスタが主流だったのに、F­Fでしかもノンパ­ワステ、フェンダーミラーだったので結構運転­し難かったです。で­も、このCMはBGMも好きで、当時土曜日­のフジテレビ系「ゴー­ルデン洋画劇場」で必ず流れていました（­確か三菱自動車もスポン­サーだった記憶があります）。

i have this car for 24 years now, it was a nice car in its era, now people will look at it as trash..its pretty fast & comfortable for a 1.8 litre engine..

@te71se Ah, ok, thanks for clearing that one up. The NZ market recieved a 'facelift' of the V3000 in this generation in 1989-90 that combined the sedan bodyshell with the hardtop's front bodypanels.

@joh2 I know this is a bit late replying, but that isn't correct. Japan had the E18A Galant 'Duke V3000' with the 3.0L SOHC V6 in 1986, along with the Galant V2000 with the 2.0L SOHC V6. The US also got the V6 powered 5th generation Galants starting from the 1988 model year in 1987.

Have owned 4 of these,plus 3 V3000's with the 3.0 v6...awesome cars!!

i had this car for 1 year...great engine...2.4L....sucked engine like a monster..but had great power...damn...good old days...untill the ECS suspension died on me...cost beyond the value of the car sold for 400 usd very confortable though
