I looked forward to this event from the moment I heard about it! Visit www.invisiblechildren.com to learn more about what you can do to end the war in Africa (specifically Uganda)!
Specifically, over 1 million people have been displaced from their homes and are living in displacement camps-deprived of their land and independence, really. Sanitation is horrible, and around 1,000 people die by the week! HIV/AIDS and malaria are top killers.
At DisplaceMe, the youth of America gathered in 15 designated cities to sleep in cardboard boxes and participate in activities in order to better understand the life of a displaced person. The Invisible Children group will be making a music video to this, as they did with last year's night commute (you can find it somewhere in my favorites!), with some footage and information. Please visit the site and just read a little bit about what's going on. Spread the word, buy a bracelet, and believe in the cause! Bring them home!
