TRANSMOGRIFIERS (2008 Nicktoons Film Festival Submission Version)

No, it didn't get into the festival. I made several enhancements and other changes before submitting Transmogrifiers to the Nicktoons Film Festival:

-I removed the subtitles. Consequently, to make it easier to understand the characters, I changed the high-pitched "Tom Fool" by Van Phillips to a public domain recording of "The Whistler and His Dog" which I pitched down.

-I redid Optimal Primer's animation to match his speech patterns more closely. He was originally supposed to come off as blocky, clumsy, and overall a low-quality knockoff, but I don't think that ever really came across very well.

-Some of the numerals in the phone number at the end were replaced with Greek letters so there wouldn't be any legal concerns.

-I redid the particleIllusion fire at the end to be higher resolution.

I think there are also some other things I forgot.

You do great animation! It's great quality and like a cartoon on TV, which technique do you use of flash? Motion Tweening, or frame by frame? or do you do something else? cuz this looks phenomenal!

I use a combination of both animation techniques. Tweening by itself looks too flat, and when doing frame-by-frame animation I tend to break the geometry up into several simpler shapes and tween those as a base to get an idea of how something should move.

OK, I think the real reasons it didn't get in are a) Transformers is too successful and b) a couple Easter Eggs.

In the beginning, you have a character quoting Marx, and (I think I'm the first to see this) the portrait of the dog turned into one of a skull.

and c) the nameless type of humor that is often found in Strong Badia.

Actually, I remember seeing this turn up in the Newgrounds portal. I thought it was pretty funny then...
