It kind of bothers me seeing arguments on great videos videos like this. Don't waste time arguing with one another. Instead, take some time to think about how much God loves you, and think about what you can do to make yourself a better reflection of that love.

How do you know the red part of the rope is at the end and not somewhere in the middle?

    Pt 2 @Enhanced

24Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. 26But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. 27When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash - Jesus

    Pt 1 @EnhancedHuman

Unless ur living for Jesus Christ then ur wasting your red spot (ur life on earth). You whole eternity is based on living for Jesus.

As Jesus said in Mk 8:35 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. 36 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? 37 Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?

It's not contradiction. You're taking two different things and trying to make them the same. He's talking about living, loving, learning, etc in preparation or to determine how one's eternity is spent. That is entirely different than living "YOLO" putting all emphasis and effort into one small portion. The archer spends hours learning to pull the bow, but its not so he can just pull the string, its so he can hit the target 30ft away dead center knowing he has no control one he lets the string go

Your right. It does seem like he's contradicting him self. But the main idea here is about you and I asking ourselves if the way we live our lives compatible with what we believe about God and eternity. Do we really live, love and learn like we're expecting to see God face to face one day and live, love and learn from Him for all eternity?

Of course, Chan assumes that his listeners believe in Jesus as he has been revealed in the Bible.
