Dark Hollow by the Grateful Dead; recorded on February 14, 1970 at the Fillmore East. Good news is Bobby knows the words; bad news is Jerry injures himself with a Bill Russell double action capo.

  • The Dead with Pigpen.........at their best

  • Jerry's harmony stands out on this one. It is absolutely and beautifully, mournful

Of course Bob Weir already had a grand voice. I saw them that previous December and they sounded nothing like this, as they were loud and jammin' out.

  • absolutely beautiful!

  • love jerry's background vocals on this

  • @lilaspargel actually after he almost got kicked out he woodshedded and became an incredible guitar player..but only in a bob weir kind of way!...listen to some of the work bobby did during some of the chinacat>rider transitions and it will rip your fucking head off..a genius..though here his voice is the main thing..and a magnificent moment for sure.

  • One person went and didn't come back.

  • Actually Bob Weir almost got kicked out of the Dead for not practicing and tripping too much. Not a great guitarist, but a damn unique voice.

  • got jerry's voice... i wish i could have someone follow me around all day and translate everything anyone says so it sounds like jerry is saying it

  • i love when they play acoustic

  • One of My fav Dead albums of all time
