Back in the 1950's Kirtner and Cartwright, two of Carl Rogers colleagues at the university of Chicargo researched the question, why do some clients success in therapy when others do not ? They discovered that successful clients had a special way of working on issues as compared to unsuccessful clients. E Gendlin carried forwrd their reseach, and discovered that clients destined to fail in therapy, could learn to do what the successsful clients were doing. See this video for more information
