The sprint exercise is meant to increase endurance and is part of the endurance phase of the mma armor program, notice that when I sprint forward I stop and reverse at different locations on the floor. This is a exercise after an intense leg workout. For resistance you could use a weighted chest harness or attach yourself to a resistance band, but be careful as you reverse because it will pull you back tremendously.
