Occupy Oakland clashes: Video of masked youths smashing windows

The General Strike in Oakland had many marches throughout the day including this march against Capitalism. Thousands took to the streets in the Californian city and shut down operations in one of America's major sea ports. ­This follows last week's violent police dispersal of a demonstrators' camp, which resulted in a former US marine being severely injured.

It seems kind of obvious that these people are cops in disguise. They have been trained to be violent and do not show hesitation. Witness how they attack protesters who try to physically stop them. Most of the crowd is against their actions, and yet they persist. Why? And why the black masks? People do not conspire to commit black mask vandalism to achieve things, it's straight out of a cartoon. The same thing happened in Toronto during the G20 or whatever. Large crowd evoke the "Hey he did it too" safety net. People in large groups get wound up with the energy at hand, when that energy goes negative people start responding negatively. This coupled with the safety net allows people to do things they wouldn't normally do. Reason turns into raw emotion, why some felt wronged, regardless of the original reason, is fuel enough to let it spiral out of control.
