The Transylvanian Wildlife Project team discovered two illegal poachers traps on a field trip yesterday. They were situated on a track regularly used by wild boar. The first was a large wire loop snare, and the second a gin style trap large enough to trap a bear. Luckily Barni saw the trap before one of the team members stood on it. Not only is trapping illegal but you can only imagine the terrible suffering these traps cause to animals. Poachers rarely check traps daily so the suffering can go on for some time before the animal is discovered and then brutally killed. The second trap was hard wired to a tree but we did manage to successfully remove it. Two less threats to wildlife!

  • That trap would look cool on a wall in my den. lol

  • @MossyOaksCowboy - I would prefer it to be on someone's wall rather than hidden on the ground causing injury and death to innocent animals.

  • If its illegal then why are you whispering...

  • @flyndublin - Not always a good idea to be making lots of noise when poachers are about.

  • lol since wen has trapping been illegal?

  • @houndhunter9119 - They are illegal when traps contain serrated teeth and sit in a protected wildlife reserve. That is present day law. We are aiming for a total ban of this cruel and barbaric activity.

  • I can't wait til your killed by the "poor little innocent animals" that you are talking about I have seen people attacked by coyotes and wolves boar bear and I love trapping and hunting and you tree hugging PETA lovers need to quit buying traps and setting them and blaming us and you didn't prevent nothing at all you are to immature to understand what trapping is you want to assume that it hurts the animal it really doesnt I've shot hogs and deer before and they would run even with their guts h

  • @Kezdiman irresponsible? hows that

  • @devilfishship

If I can prevent a single animal suffering an excruciating and painful death caught in one of these traps then I am happy to be labelled a "do gooder". Protecting wildlife is my business, just as much as the innocent animal is minding theirs when they walk along forest trails.

  • @SuperJg4567

They are when they sit in a forest/wildlife reserve
