The Dark Knight Returns is the best Batman story ever written period. Although this book was pretty damn good. But wasn't Long Halloween a sequel to Frank Miller's Year One? I think Jeph Loeb said it was, i can't remember.

I keep almost buying the absolute version of this but the cheapest I can find it is $50, then I find another Batman graphic novel I want for much cheaper, should I just get the paperback of this?

My favorite comic book. I really lik that you cannot solve the mystery at the end. It's very ambiguous. Two-Face was really great in this one, too :).

You've got a point. Whenever I read a Batman-story the super-villains sort of gets turned into gangsters or it's seemingly only super-villains that threatens the city or occasionally the whole damn world. It's a bit weird.

Albertos birthday was on a holiday (which seals it for me) The Gotham City corner was the only victim who wasnt a gangster -suspicious and Carla Viti was killed at the coroners office add them together and you get A.F I thought Riddler was great in this by the way, Scarecrow was weak though and the main gangsters ARE interesting

in my opinion, this is thee greatest batman story ever told, my faviroute of all batman books. this is essentially my bible.
