Just wait...Won't be long until the whole planet is crowded like the Chinese. Who knows, mother nature might be able to throw some curve ball diseases or disasters.

@patrickcorliss the Shaanxi area has a very moutainous terrain so a railway would proabobly not be as ideal as a road there.

Goods trains in Australia carry huge volumes of iron ore, coal and other minerals. It looks like they are all coming from the same place together.
The question was asking why China didn't have railways rather than trucks to transport those heavy loads..
