I don't think it was out of line at all. Alan is playing DM songs on his Recoil tour.
So it makes sence that someone would say something related to DM.

I think he should come back to DM as a member, AND continue making Recoil too.

Well, as i see it, there were two stupid guys in the video. the 1st, Ricardo from Noise lab i think, telling Alan that Teotihuacan was founded by Mexicas. (1:20). - No way Ricardo, Teotihuacan was founded by the TOLTECAS many years before Mexicas appeared on the records

The 2nd one is the already mentioned guy yelling 'Alan go Depeche Mode'. Totally out of line. Alan is beyond DM. He is individually creative and has the art of his own. Probably I would be thankful of him leaving DM because now we have two more excelent musical options, each one with their own personality. Thanks Alan for visiting us and being such a great person.

Bravo Alan!!! cause i've been to the top of the pyramids of the moon and the sun (in teotihuacan) and it's pretty difficult ha ha ha!!!! and it was 20 years ago, so ..... ;-))
