International Day at Horizons Learning Center

Horizons Learning Center held our first "International Day": a celebration of the many different cultures and nations represented in our school community. Students at Horizons have been learning about the different cultures that they come from. Students were invited to come to school wearing clothes that represent their national dress. They were on stage in a performance that reflects the amazing array of cultures that are part of Horizons. Each class performed a song that reflects a particular culture or the value of cultures coming together. Songs were sung in Thai, English, and South African Xhasa.
At Horizons, we believe we all have something to learn from other cultures. Horizons students come from more than 20 different countries across Asia, North and South America, Africa, Europe and Australia. We hope that events like International Day will promote friendship and understanding among many different cultures.
